Lawyers boycott court, join Telangana bandh

Hyderabad, January 22: Pro-Telangana lawyers boycotted court proceeding in Nampally Criminal Court here on second consecutive day today in support of “Telangana bandh” paralysing its functioning.

The court proceedings was badly affected on second day today in Nampally Criminal Court complex which houses 30 courts as advocates not allowed anybody to enter in the court halls.

The advocates shouted slogans in support of separate Telangana state and closed down two entrances of the court and sat infront of the doors.

However, agitating advocates allowed only administrative staff to go inside after lunch hours.

The hearing on the petition of Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Hyderabad city police filed in a court seeking 10 days custody of arrested “terror operative” Mohammed Amjad alias Khaja was deferred for tomorrow.

Khaja, South India chief of a Bangaladesh based terror outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami, was arrested by the city police on January 18 and now he is under judicial remand till February 1.
