New Delhi, December 21: Lawyers owing allegiance to Co-ordination Committee of All Bar Associations of Delhi have decided to stay away from courts tomorrow to protest the arrest of Bar Council of India (BCI) member Rajendra Singh Rana by CBI for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs one lakh.
The co-ordiantion committee alleged in a statement that the arrest shows the high handedness of CBI which raided the residence of Rana without the assistance of any lady staff despite the fact that only female members were present at his house at that time.
“The CBI officials, taking advantage of the absence of any male member, abused and misbehaved with the female members of the house who were compelled to report the same to the President of Delhi BAR Association and Rohini Court Bar Association,” charged the co-ordiantion committee.
