Badaun, October 23: Police today arrested a lawyer while he was allegedly trying to supply narcotic substance to an undertrial, who were being brought to the district court for hearing.
Acting on a tip off that a lawyer was supplying drugs to undertrials at the court premises and in the jail here, police caught one Abdul Muktbil red-handed with narcotics, Superintendent of Police, Tarun Gaba said.
During interrogation, the lawyer said he had come to meet an undertrial Salim, Gaba said.
An FIR has been registered against Muktbil, who was sent to jail, he said.
