Law student of HPU suspended over ragging

Shimla: A fifth semester student of Law department of Himachal Pradesh university (HPU) was suspended today by the anti-ragging committee for allegedly ragging and physically assaulting a first semester student.

The committee took cognisance of a complaint filed by first semester student Yoginder and directed accused Nand Lal “not to enter” the university campus till the enquiry was over.

However, he will have to appear before the ragging committee, whenever called.

Incidents of ragging would not be tolerated in the university and those indulging in it would face stringent action, Vice Chancellor ADN Bajpai said.
