Latest Poll predictions: Congress at advantage, Gujaratis feel ‘Achhe din’ haven’t arrived

New Delhi: In the latest opinion poll by the Lokniti-CSDS poll done for ABP News has revealed stunning predictions. The BJP which has been in power in Gujarat since 22 years seems to losing its clamour in the state.

The latest findings point that both the main contenders BJP and Congress are in neck to neck competition with BJP getting between 91 and 99 seats. The opinion poll predicted that Congress could settle anywhere between 78 and 86 seats.

Both demonetisation and GST has hardened as the campaign has progressed and even the changes made to GST rates last month left more people dissatisfied than satisfied. This went clearly in the favour of Congress.

According to the opinion poll, the BJP could form the government but these predictions will definitely upset the BJP party. This is because the same agency which has conducted opinion poll in August 2017 clearly predicted BJP’s win in the elections with getting 150 seats and Congress struggling to cross 30 seats.

The findings give boost to morale of the Congress party workers. The Congress has its strong position in North and South Gujarat, whereas BJP is just ahead of Congress in Saurashtra region.

There is also clear divide between rural and urban Gujarat. Urbanites favour BJP, whereas Congress has strong sentiments in rural villages.

In terms of Age groups, those aged between 18 to 29 years prefer BJP. However, those aged between 30-39 and 40-59 age groups have a slight preference for Congress.
