London: The late King of Saudi Arabia, Shah Fahd had secretly married a Palestinian-born, Janan Harb when he was ill. She was a Christian but before her marriage she had embrace Islam. The King had made a promise to support her financially for the rest of her life. She also said that there was an opposition for this marriage from King’s family since she was a Christian. She mentioned that Prince Abdul Aziz who was the son of another of the King’s wife had promised for a financial settlement when he met her at Dorchester Hotel in London in 2003.
Judge Peter Smith pronounced the judgment that she should receive more than 15 million pounds and two apartments in London.
The court did not verify the genuineness of matrimonial alliance but it took into consideration the promise made by the King for a cash settlement and luxury apartments in London.
