Last rites of Ambareesh to be performed in B’luru on Nov 26

Bengaluru, (Karnataka) [India] Nov 25 (ANI): Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has announced that the last rites of the politician and actor Ambareesh will be held near Dr. Rajkumar Smaraka at Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru, with state honours on November 26.

Special buses have also been arranged from all Talukas of Mandya district to facilitate the public travel Kanteerava Stadium to pay homage to the late leader.

The state government has declared an official mourning of three days as a mark of respect to the departed leader.

This announcement comes after the Chief Minister consulted and discussed with Ambareesh’s family members and the film industry over performing the last rites in Bengaluru.

Ambareesh, a Kannada actor, who was popularly known as the ‘rebel star’ passed away last night after suffering cardiac arrest. The 66-year-old leader was admitted at Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru for multiple ailments.

Superstar Rajinikanth mourned the death of the veteran actor on his official Twitter handle on Saturday calling him his “best friend.” “A wonderful human being … my best friend … I have lost you today and will miss you … Rest In Peace #Ambrish,” Rajinikanth tweeted.

Ambareesh started his film career with ‘Naagarahaavu’ in 1972 and had a successful acting career with over 200 films and state honours and other awards.

He had been an MP for three terms from 1998-99, 1999-2004 and 2004-2009 and was also served as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, from 2006 to 2008. He entered politics in the year 1994. [source_without_link]ANI[/source_without_link]
