Burial rites of Dilsukhnagar blast martyrs Mohammed Rafeeq and Aijaz Ahmed were performed after Friday prayers in the presence of thousands of mourners. Extremely emotional scenes were witnessed at the funeral. Every eye broke into tears.
As soon as the news of bomb explosion at Dilsukhnagar was aired on television, 22 year old Mohammed Rafeeq’s parents tried to contact him on his mobile but in vain. His father Amiruddin told that since he is suffering from heart disease he rests at home. Mohammed Rafeeq who studied till intermediate started working at a leather shop at Dilsukhnagar. Amiruddin told that his elder son called him on phone and asked him to reach Osmania hospital then only he understood that some misfortune has befallen them. When he reached the hospital he saw that his son’s body was lying there along with other bodies. Rafeeq’s mother, brothers and sisters’ grief knew no bounds.
Another martyr Aijaz Ahmed was the youngest of the two brothers. His father Asghar Ali is mechanic by occupation. Aijaz Ahmed was studying at Sanjay Gandhi College, Abdullahpur. A large number of non-Muslim friends were present at the funeral prayers. The students of the college had tied black ribbons on their arms and chest. They were holding placards with anti-terrorism slogans written on them. Aijaz’s friend Naveen told that on the fateful day both of them boarded the same bus while returning from the college. While Naveen alighted at LB Nagar, Aijaz had to get down at Dilsukhnagar bus stop from where he had to take another bus for Amberpet.
