The State government on Wednesday extended the last date for submitting fresh tenders to July 5.
As per the schedule, the last date for submitting the tenders would conclude on June 15.
It may be mentioned the government invited fresh tenders follows the cancellation of the previous tenders, under which the SEW consortium was selected to implement the works, by a high power committee headed by Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi.
The committee found that the SEW consortium did not follow some conditions under the previous tenders to qualify for selection.
Under the fresh tenders, the government quoted the total cost of three main components—dam spillway, rock fill, earthen dams and foundation pits for the 960-MW capacity powerhouse– at Rs 4,717 crore.(INN)
