Hyderabad, January 1: The Minister for Primary Education, Dr Sailajanath, on Friday announced that the last date for admissions into Intermediate of Open School system has been extended to January 29, 2011.
Releasing Open School SSC results at SCERT here, Dr Sailajanath said that the open school system would help drop-out students to continue their studies and facilitate them to obtain SCC and Intermediate certificates. He also pointed out that the dropout rate was high in the State after Class X and reminded that Intermediate through open school system was started this year. He also announced that out of 12,195 students who appeared for SCC (Open school exams), 4,146 secured pass marks.
The Minister said that the State government was committed to provide primary education to every child in the State and improve facilities at the schools. Steps would be taken to improve quality of primary education, which was foundation to education of the child, he added.
The Principal Secretary, Primary Education, Ms Chandana Khan, and the Project Director of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Mr Rafath Ali, and others were also present.
