Hyderabad, October 09: Chief Minister K Rosaiah will finally be leaving for Delhi this Sunday on a two-day tour after having deferred the visit twice or thrice in the recent past.
There is speculation that he may take up the issue of his long-pending Cabinet reshuffle with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi the same day. Though it is widely believed that the Cabinet would be reconstituted later this month, one view is that it may be postponed till December.
The reason being cited for this is: Sonia Gandhi cannot take any decision on either the government or the party affairs without first formulating an opinion on the future of Andhra Pradesh in the wake of the Telangana agitation.
Whatever decision Delhi takes on the demand for a separate Telangana — based on the repor t of Just ice Srikrishna Committee — political equations will undergo a significant change. The report will be out by Dec 31. Hence, the possibility of further deferring the Cabinet reshuffle.
Though not fully comfortable with his present Cabinet, which was constituted by the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the Chief Minister has no firm opinion either in favour of or against an immediate reshuffle and will go by Sonia’s wishes, sources said.
Rosaiah’s visit to Delhi has been finalised after Sonia confirmed an appointment with him on Sunday. He was to visit the national capital long back but had to cancel his plans once due to his ill-health and later due to the preoccupation of the party leadership with the Kashmir crisis and Commonwealth Games.
