Large Scale Investments in A.P.

Hyderabad, January 17: (Siasat News) Govt. of A.P. organized ‘Global Partnership Summit 2012’ last week successfully in Hyderabad. As a result of this summit it is expected that there will be investments on mass scale which would generate 7 to 8 lakh jobs. Investors have given preference to set-up their industrial units mostly in coastal districts of A.P. Dr. J. Geetha Reddy, Minister for Industries addressed a press conference yesterday in Secretariat. She thanked the media persons for their cooperation. She said that most of the investors have selected, energy, I.T. Infrastructure and Tourism sectors for investments. The investors have given preference mostly to Andhra area and Telangana area is getting only 40% share. Dr. Geetha Reddy who represents Zaheerabad in Assembly told that tractor manufacturing unit will be set up in Zaheerabad which would produce one lakh tractors every year. Since there are no units of manufacture spare parts of the cars, the investors are not showing any interest in setting up car manufacturing units in A.P.

She said that in energy sector, there will be an investment of Rs. 3 lakh crore to establish 89 power production units. Thirty projects in I.T. Sector would engage Rs. 22.5 lakh crore. In the field of infrastructure Rs. 33 lakh crore will be invested. Tourism business will attract an investment of Rs. 1700 lakh crore.

In order to make all these projects successful a ‘National Industrial Monitoring Zone’ will be set up.

She said that in order to attract the industrialists and investors, Govt. would provide more facilities to investors and they will also be given relaxation in certain areas.
