Hyderabad: Commissioner’s Task Force personnel today solved the murder mystery a lorry mechanic M Ajay Singh, 26, of Ramsinghpura, Karwan and arrested six suspects belonging to the city. The victim was allegedly murdered on June 22 at Netaji Nagar Lorry Parking place under Langer House police limits. The West Zone team detected that the victim was beaten by the accused with iron rods and sticks.
The accused were identified as Abdul Shukoor, 49, supervisor of “HK Parking lot”, Netajinagar, residing at Seven Tombs, Tolichowki; Mohd Hussain alias Amjad, 29, Home Guard residing at Attapurl Mohd Abdul Sayeed alias Mohd Ghouse Mohinuddin, 27, of Attapur; Mohd Altaf, 27, of Gudimalkapur; Mohd Shafiuddin alias Sheru, 26, of Mallepally and Mohd Sajjad Ali, 34, Lorry mechanic, residing at Golconda.
According to the Commissioner’s Task Force DCP, the police received a complaint from one P Mukesh of Ramsinghpura, Karwan on the morning of June 22 stating that one Rajender Singh told him that Ajay Singh was beaten up with iron rods and sticks by some unidentified persons at Netaji Nagar Lorry Parking area suspecting him to be a thief. Immediately, he rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital in 108 Ambulance.
Police said all the six accused are friends and used to meet regularly at HK Parking lot, Netaji nagar, Langer House for chit chatting, drinking and so on. On the night of June 21, all the accused gathered at HK parking lot where some 100 lorries were parked. After some time they heard some dogs barking and found the victim hiding behind a lorry. On seeing the accused, the victim tried run away, but the accused caught the victim and tied him to a lorry and started beating him with iron rods and sticks suspecting him to be a thief stealing batteries and other parts of lorries since four months in the lorry parking place. Later, all the accused except Abdul Shukoor went away by tying the victim’s hands to the lorry. In the early morning hours on June 22 accused Abdul Shukoor found the victim unconscious and left the place.
Being informed by the local residents, the Langer House police rushed to the spot and shifted the victim to Osmania General Hospital in a 108 Ambulance. But on the same day, the victim died while undergoing treatment due to severe injuries. On knowing the death of the victim, all the accused fled to Vikarabad and from there, they went to Zaheerabad by bus and later reached Mangalagiri.
While the accused were returning to Hyderabad, the West Zone police nabbed them at Seven Tombs and handed them over to Langer House police, who registered a case under Section 302 read with Section 34 IPC. (NSS)
