Govt. issued orders to increase land value in rural, urban and cantonment areas. It issued G.O. Ms. No. 157 yesterday. Instructions have been issued to District Collectors and District Registrars in this regard.
There was a rush of people in Registration offices in view of raising land value with effect from 1st April 2013.
Govt. sources indicated that due to hike in land value Rs. 1446 crore could be collected.
With the increase of land value, public will be overburdened. It may be noted that with the increase of land value, fraud cases have also increased in the other states. Land purchasers have to pay VAT also through bank challans to save delay in getting revenue into Govt. treasury.
