Hyderabad: Mr. Mohammed Saleem, Chairman and Mr. Mannan Farooqui, CEO of Wakf Board met the Chief Secretary of TS and submitted a representation requesting him to issue instructions to Revenue officials for the protection of Wakf properties in various districts of Telangana State.
Mr. S.P. Singh, Chief Secretary told that the survey of endowment and wakf lands would be taken up in the second phase. Mr. Saleem also told the Chief Secretary that there is a shortage of employees in Wakf Board. The Chief Secretary instructed the chairman to furnish the details. The Chairman and CEO also met Mr. Bhupal Reddy, Secretary to CM and apprised him of the details.
Mr. Bhupal Reddy expressed his surprise there are more than 50 surplus attenders in Wakf Board and said that they would be shifted to other minority institutions.
Mr. Saleem told that whatever record is available with Wakf Board should be sent to all the district collectors and the survey teams should be instructed to include it in the revenue records.
Mr. Saleem also informed that Wakf Board has constituted a committee consisting of its members and officials which would explore the possibilities of getting wakf properties entered into revenue records.
