Land scam: RSS questions K’taka CM’s role

New Delhi, November 17: There is more trouble for beleaguered Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa as new evidence has emerged showing his involvement in land scams.

The RSS has questioned BJP president Nitin Gadkari over the allegations against the Karnataka CM who has been under fire for his alleged involvement in the scam.

Suresh Soni, the RSS’s incharge of the BJP spoke personally to the party president to find out about Yeddyurappa’s role in the scam.

The emergence of fresh evidence is threatening the political survival of chief minister B Yeddyurappa.

CNN-IBN has learnt that the BJP high command is monitoring the developments very closely as each day new set of documents being released by the opposition show Yeddyurappa favouring his family in the allocation of land.

The development comes at an opportune time for a section within the BJP that is using the land scam to seek Yeddyurappa’s ouster.

Meanwhile, Yeddurappa, already under fire from the opposition has said that the state cabinet will discuss about ordering a judicial inquiry into all the land scam on Thursday.

The Karnataka CM had a close shave when he won a controversial vote of confidence in the state assembly last month.

Meanwhile, the opposition’s demands for Yeddyurappa’s resignation on grounds of corruption are getting more aggressive.

JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy, whose allegations had triggered off a rebellion against the Karnataka CM, has said that Yeddyurappa must step down as chief minister.
