Hyderabad: Balanagar sub-registrar Md Yousuf was arrested by Cyberabad police on Wednesday in the fraudulent government land registration case. He along with Medchal joint sub-registrar TV Ramesh Chander Reddy, was sent to judicial remand. On the direction of the director-general of police (DGP) to take over three cases of land registration fraud, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) sleuths in coordination with the local police and ACB sleuths raided the houses of the tainted officials and seized incriminating evidence.
Sub-registrar Md Yousuf was arrested from a private hospital at Barkatpura. A criminal case against Yousuf was booked on Tuesday on the basis of complaint lodged by Medchal district registrar. He is accused of registering 607 acres of government land in the name of private persons.
Documents, Rs. 2 lakh cash and other incriminating evidence were seized during the searches conducted by Balapur police at Yousuf’s office and house; where as laptops, cell phones and other incriminating evidence were seized from Reddy’s house. Police directed bank officials to freeze his account having Rs. 8 lakh.
