Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuth have arrested a ‘bhumapan’ (land measurement) officer while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a complainant for recording owner’s name on the land record at city bhumapan office Mulund here today. According to the complainant he had purchased a plot from a private party and approached bhumapan office at Mulund with an application for recording owner’s name on the government record, according ACB sources said. Mr Machhidra Raghunath Bhujbal, bhumapan officer has demaded Rs 50,000 for updating record. The complainant got ready to pay the amount and simultenously lodged a complaint against Bhujbal with ACB office, Worli. After verifying the complaint, ACB official laid a trap and arrested Bhujbal while accepting the amount,sources added.
