Bhadohi, December 04: A case has been registered against a Samajwadi Party MLA and six others for allegedly grabbing 20 bighas of land belonging to Dalits in Dhanapur village in the district, police said.
The FIR was registered under SC/ST (Atrocities Prevention) Act with Gopiganj police station here against seven persons, including MLA Vijay Mishra.
Mishra is representing Bhadohi constituency in the assembly.
The FIR was registered on a complaint of Dalit villagers that the MLA and others had grabbed their land and threatened them with dire consequence if they approached police, they said.
