Jammu, February 22: The state urban development would be approached to identify suitable land for developing housing colonies for journalists in Srinagar and Jammu cities.
The decision to this effect was decided at a meeting of officers of Information department chaired by Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, B Vyas here today.
The meeting decided that J&K Bank and universities would be suggested to route the advertisements through the Information department.
Guidelines will be framed for granting state awards to media persons as well as for providing accommodation to them in New-Delhi.
The guidelines will be framed in consultation with the directorate of Information.
