Land allotments were cabinet decisions, not mine: Dharmana

Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasad Rao on Saturday said that the allotment of land to companies and industries done during the regime of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy were collective decisions take by the entire cabinet.

Talking to media persons after conducting a review meeting on the Prajapatham programme at Zilla Parishat Hall in Srikakulam district, Dharmana Prasad Rao said that the decision to allot lands to Vanpic, Penna Cements and other companies were collectively by the YSR’s cabinet. He said that the Revenue Minister alone has no powers to allot even a cent of land for any industries to favour them.

Dharmana Prasad Rao said that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was targeting him on land allotments in order to get political mileage on the issue in the ensuing by-elections from Narsannapeta Assembly constituency. He said that he was ready to cooperate with the CBI in the investigations and provide all evidences and material to the agency in connection with land allotments in the State. He said, “I am ready to extend my full cooperation if the CBI calls me again as part of investigations.”

He reiterated that the entire Cabinet of YSR would be held responsible for the collective decisions on various issues.
