Congress president Sonia Gandhi will address a massive ‘Kisan Rally’ at the Ramlila Ground here on April 20 during which she is expected to target the Centre’s contentious Land Acquisition Bill.
“Under the aegis of AICC, Smt. Sonia Gandhi will address the massive Kisan Rally on 20th April at Ramlila Ground and the main issue would be the Land Bill,” Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh said.
“The primary agenda will be to protest against ordinance for Land Acquisition Bill. The government is trying to bring some changes, but it would have been better if the Prime Minister could have discussed it with other political parties,” he added.
According to reports, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi would also be present in the rally.
“Every senior leader will take part,” he said while responding to a poser on whether the Congress vice-president would also be addressing the rally.
In a rare show of strength, a united opposition of 14 political parties, led by the Congress president had earlier on March 17 marched from the Parliament to the Rashtrapati Bhawan to protest against the BJP-led NDA Government’s Land Bill. (ANI)
