Jamshedpur, February 21: RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tejaswi Yadav may have failed in politics but his cricketing career is still going strong as he has recently been signed up by a Bihar-based franchise to play in the upcoming Jharkhand Premier League (JPL).
A Bihar-based franchise, ‘Frontline’ has signed up Tejaswi for Rs 1.31 lakh at the auction held in Ranchi recently and will represent Jamshedpur Janbaaz in the JPL, franchise sources today said.
The inaugural edition of JPL is being organised by the Jharkhand Cricket Association (JCA) from March 13 to 19 in the state and will be played on the pattern of the high-profile Indian Premier League.
Tejaswi is the second most expensive player for his team after skipper Mihir Diwakar, a Ranji Trophy cricketer from Jhakhand.
