New Delhi, August 04: After his party’s Waterloo in the Lok Sabha elections, RJD chief Lalu Prasad appears to have turned religious.
Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar observed this in the Lok Sabha when Prasad referred to coconuts being used in religious rituals across the country, including Bihar.
The RJD chief wanted to know during Question Hour why the crop was not grown widely in his home state, Bihar.
Replying to the query, Pawar quipped that it was a “good change” that the former Railway minister was now talking about things religious. This led to laughter in the House.
The Agriculture Minister pointed out that coconuts produced in coastal states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep were of better quality than elsewhere in the country.
Likewise, he noted that litchis grown in Muzaffarpur in Bihar were of better quality than those grown in other places.
Pawar suggested that farmers should go in for crops that would get them the best yield.
