Lalit Modi controversy puts government in dock, RS adjourned till noon

New Delhi:The Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till noon after a united opposition mounted pressure on the government over the controversy surrounding former IPL chief Lalit Modi.

The opposition has been demanding that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje should be sacked for helping Lalit Modi.

Before the commencement of the Monsoon Session, Swaraj met Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the well of the House

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also joined them and exchanged pleasantries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also appealed to the opposition parties to ensure smooth functioning of the Parliament during the Monsoon Session and added that the parties have ensured cooperation on their behalf. (ANI)
