Telangana Congress MLA Kichannagari Lakshma Reddy on Thursday stated that the party suffered major debacle in the recent by-elections in Telangana region as it failed to make its stand clear on the bifurcation of the State issue.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office, Kichannagari Lakshma Reddy said that the Telangana sentiment has played a major role in the recent by-elections and the people voted in favour of TRS supporting their cause. He said that the Ministers from the Telangana region should make sincere efforts towards the formation of Telangana State and mount pressure on the high command for taking a favourable decision. Else, he said that the Telangana issue would cost dearly for the Congress party in the region.
Responding to controversy over using former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s picture in the ensuing by-elections, he said that that the issue holds no significance and was a waste of time. Regarding corruption during YSR’s regime, he said nothing could be said before the CBI submits its report. (INN)
