Lagadapati wants Assembly to debate T-Bill

Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal said that the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Bill, 2013, should be debated in the State Legislative Assembly.

Participating in the Meet The Press programme organised by the AP Journalist Forum here on Sunday, Rajagopal said that each and every clause should be debated and put to voting in the State. However, he advised the Centre to stop the Telangana Bill in the interest of people of Seemandhra.

Lagadapati said that he was pained after the agitation by common people in Seemandhra region was referred to as agitation by investors. He said that the Centre did not take into account the mass agitation of Seemandhra people while taking a decision on Telangana.

The Vijayawada MP held TRS leader T Harish Rao responsible for the suicides in Telangana region. He alleged that it was Harish Rao who “enacted the drama” of self immolation during a protest at Siddipet. This move prompted several youth to commit suicide.

Another Congress MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao described the Congress Working Committee’s decision as wrong and said it was unacceptable under any circumstances. He said that the division of the State would cause injustice to the people of Seemandhra region. (INN)
