Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal has called on Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and submitted a ten-page report on the Telangana March and the current political situation in the State.
In his report, Rajagopal has stated that the Chief Minister had given permission for the Telangana March under pressure from the ministers of the region and the Telangana activists had not kept their promise of holding the march peacefully. He complained that they had misused the permission and indulged in violence and vandalism.
Rajagopal has stated that in violation of its own promise, the TPJAC allowed largescale vandalism. He said that apart from the police and media vehicles, Railway properties were also damaged during the March. Stating that there would be chaos if Telangana was announced, Lagadapati has asked the Union Home Minister to keep the State united. (NSS)
