Lagadapati challenges KCR for open debate on medical seats issue

Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Sunday offerred to quit politics if the Telangana Rashtra Samithi proves that Seemandhra had more number of medical seats than the Telangana region.

Challenging TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao for an open debate on the issue, Rajagopal accused him of trying to make a non-issue, an issue. In a letter to the TRS chief, Rajagopal said that the party was trying to incite regional feelings by wrongly claiming that the Seemandhra region got more number of medical seats compared to Telangana. He said that, by all counts, Telangana had maximum number of seats. He said he would quit politics permanently if the TRS proves him wrong.

Rajagopal also accused YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy of acting innocent on the issue of Telangana statehood. He said Jagan was imitating the lead character of Telugu movie Swati Muthyam played by Kamal Hassan with regard to Telangana. He demanded that the Jagan clarify his stand on the bifurcation of State issue.
