Lackadaisical attitude of MFD officials leads to poor implementation of Shaadi Mubarak Scheme

Shaadi Mubarak Scheme introduced by Telangana State Government to provide financial assistance of Rs. 51000 to Muslim brides at the time of their marriage is being implemented at snail’s pace. It is said that delay in release of amount from government treasury and lack of staff is delaying the sorting of applications. There was no increase in the release of amount to the applicants during the past three months. When asked about this, Minority Welfare officials attributed the delay to staff crunch. Moreover that there was delay in release of amount by government treasury and after repeated representation the scheme was included in green channel. It seems that the officials of Minority Welfare have no interest in speedy implementation of Shaadi Mubarak Scheme. During the last one month they were busy in preparations of Jashn-e-Telangana programme hosted by the government.
