Lack of fire engines led to loss of crores of rupees at Sabzimandi

Shop owners of Sabzimandi suffered heavy losses following the destruction caused by miscreants at Sabzimandi on Monday night. Miscreants set afire at least 9 big shops and tried to target the houses of minorities.

Unfortunately only 4 fire engines were called to douse the fire. Locals have to say that had there been more number of fire engines, it would have been easy to put off the fire.

Sadly only 14 fire engines are operational for more than one crore population under GHMC. As per the rules one fire station is required for every 50000 population. Lack of fire stations, fire engines and firefighting staff, in the Hyderabad city, spread over an area of 625 sq km, raises several questions about the security of its residence.
