New York: The bomb threat in Los Angeles that led to the shutting down of all schools in the city has been dismissed as hoax or ‘something designed to disrupt school districts in large cities,’ the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee said.
According to Fox News, California Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff stressed the investigation was underway.
Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck said at a news conference that the threat which school officials had initially called “credible,” was emailed to members of the school board.
He added that the threat message mentioned explosive devices and an attack with assault rifles.
A government official said that the email described a bomb in a backpack and other packages in the schools. Beck said it was apparently routed through Germany, but may have originated somewhere closer to Los Angeles. (ANI)
