It is late on Thursday when police entered G.P. Reddy’s house at Jubilee Hills for questioning in connection with a land dispute case.
As soon as they came, the family member rang up L. Rajagopal and he rushed to the place and stopped the police from conducting any search operations.
He questioned the officers, “Do you have a search warrant? If you don’t have it, leave the place. Otherwise, I’ll file a trespass case against you.”
He also spoke with Banjara Hills inspector Govind Reddy, who tried to convince him over the phone. L. Rajagopal went on to accuse DCP (West Zone) AR Srinivas, local ACP, inspector and others of ganging up against his friend.
He also alleged that the police were harassing Reddy by conducting midnight searches despite his friend extending cooperation in the probe into a civil case.
He said Inspector General of Police Nagi Reddy was behind the search.
A case was registered against Reddy for allegedly faking documents related to a land belonging to a police official.
Deputy Commissioner of Police A.R. Srinivas clarified that police had gone to the Reddy house as part of the ongoing probe and it has the right to question an accused at any time.
