Bishkek/Moscow, January 04: Kyrgyzstan wants to name a mountain after Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the Interfax news agency reported Tuesday.
Kyrgyz leaders have already put the motion to the former Soviet republic’s parliament.
The christening of the mountain, which until now has had no name, is a bid to underline the importance of the relationship between the two countries.
Putin promised aid to the impoverished Central Asian country during a visit by its prime minister, Almazbek Atambayev, in December.
