Kuwait authorities say non-vaccinated citizens cannot travel abroad

Kuwait: Kuwait citizens who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 will not be able to travel outside the country from May 22, the general administration of civil aviation on Sunday issued a circular to airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport.

It is not permitted to travel outside the State of Kuwait for citizens and their companions from first-degree relatives (husband – wife – children) and domestic workers unless they have been protected from infection with the COVID-19 virus by receiving the vaccine approved in the State of Kuwait, the circular stated.

However, the rule is exception of age groups not subject to vaccination.
 
Non-Kuwaitis will continue to be prevented from entering the country, with adherence to the conditions of vaccination, which are as following:

  • Those who received two doses of the vaccine and passed the second dose more than two weeks ago
  • Those who received one dose of the vaccine and were more than five weeks old.
  • Those who recovered from infection with Coronavirus and received one dose of the vaccine before at least two weeks.

The Kuwait ministry of health on Sunday reported six COVID-19 deaths and 828 infections registered in the previous 24 hours.  The figures took the country’s death toll to 1,693 and the caseload to 2.92 lakhs.

The ministry announced 1,028 recoveries on Sunday, raising the total to 2.78 lakhs.

Kuwait suspended all direct commercial flights coming from India, effective from April 24, until further notice.
