Dubai [UAE]: Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor, who was lauded for his Malayalam film debut, with the big budget epic ‘Veeram’ will soon be honored for his performance in the film.
The talented actor will be receiving the ‘Best Performance of the Year’ award for his portrayal of the anti-hero, Chandu Chekavar, at the prestigious Asia Vision Awards in Dubai.
Directed by the national award winning director Jayaraj, Veeram is a trilingual film which has already received acclaim with its Malyalam release.
The actor, who in the past, has described the experience as physically and emotionally challenging, had learnt Kalaripayuttu and gained around 14 kgs of muscle for the part.
“This is a huge honor. Its a character that has helped me push my boundaries as an actor and I thank Jayaraj sir for entrusting me with such a challenging and complex role,” said the Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana actor.
Kunal is currently shooting for Reema Kagti’s ‘Gold’ along with actor Akshay Kumar.
The film is produced by Excel Entertainment and is slated to release on August 15, 2018.
According to sources close to the actor, Kunal will be attending the event in Dubai along with his Veeram team. (ANI)
