Kumar Vishwas lodges complaint against TV news channel

Senior AAP leader Kumar Vishwas today lodged a complaint with the Patel Nagar police demanding action against a private TV news channel for “damaging” his reputation.

Vishwas has also demanded action against the owner, editor and anchor of the channel for relay of “fake news and defamatory content by words, signs, visible representation intending to harm, knowingly and willingly at the instance of rival political party, the BJP.”

Vishwas has referred to the news content run by the channel after the death of a farmer Gajendra Singh at an AAP rally in Delhi in April this year. He said he had sent a legal notice to the news channel in May, but there was no response.

“The complainant has no option left (but) to approach the Hon’ble court and law enforcement agencies to get justice in the matter. Kindly lodge the complaint accordingly and take appropriate legal action as to justice may be done in the matter,” Santosh Tripathi, Vishwas’s advocate said in his complaint to the police.
