The Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday lodged an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas, who is contesting from Amethi Lok Sabha constituency against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.
Claiming threat to life from Congress workers, Kumar Vishwas sat on dharna in the premises of Gauriganj police station on Friday after police allegedly refused to entertain his application seeking an FIR against Priyanka Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and other Congress workers. Later, police registered an FIR against Congress worker Vinod Mishra under IPC Section 506 (criminal intimidation).
SP Amethi, Hira Lal, further said that an FIR has also been registered against Kumar and his supporters for flouting prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC.
Vishwas had earlier claimed that during Priyanka Gandhi’s tour on April 15, a video of Congress worker Vinod Mishra had been “leaked” in which he allegedly said “Vishwas Rahul bhaiya ke khilaf bol raha hai mai usko goli maar dunga” (Vishwas is talking against Rahul, I will shoot him).”
