Kulbhushan Jadhav row: Indian-community seeks intervention of US government to save him

Washington: The former naval officer who was sentenced to death by Islamabad’s court, has made an uproar even with the Indians residing in the US. They have launched a petition asking Trump’s intervention in the matter.

A news report by HT claimed that the petition requires 100,000 signatures to hear from the Trump’s administration. The petition is named as ‘we the people petition’ on the white house website. The petition says that the allegations of espionage on Jadhav are false and fabricated.

The petition further says: ” Kulbhushan Jadhav is innocent and we want the appropriate authorities to intervene.” The petition has to be signed by 14th of May to qualify a hearing from the administration.

According to the Pakistan’s military court, he entered their territory by crossing Balochistan for spying purpose.

However, India has denied any such accusations saying, Jadhav was a naval officer but he was not connected with the government of India in any form.
