Kukis call for indefinite strike in Imphal tomorrow

Imphal: Kuki tribes in Manipur have called for an indefinite strike along National Highway-102 in Imphal tomorrow over the killing of a teacher by National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah) (NSCN-IM) terrorists.

Kuki organisations had earlier condemned the “unprovoked” gun attack on Kukis in Molnom villagers near Pallel town.

Over a thousand people have been killed in clashes between Kukis and Nagas over the years.

According to reports, the Kuki Reformation Forum had last week urged the NSCN (IM) and its leadership to refrain from and avoid such incidents in the future for peace and harmony in the region. (ANI)
