Warangal, January 29: Demanding introduction of Telangana bill in the Budget Session of Parliament, the Post Graduate students of colleges affiliated to Kakatiya University on Friday boycotted the PG exams and took out a massive rally in the univarsity.
Raising `Jai Telangana’ slogans, the students boycotted the examinations at colleges located in all four districts under Kakatiya University.
The students staged dharna in front of University Arts College and demanded that the Vice-Chancellor announce postponement of the examination until the Centre introduces a Telangana Bill in Parliament.
Tension prevailed on the university campus for some time and the students entered into heated argument with police at examination centres. The students tore the hall tickets.
Earlier, the varsity officials rescheduled the examinations three times and decided to conduct exams from Friday.
The university officials said they were decided to conduct examinations for 25 PG courses, 2 diploma, including MBA, LLM, LLB courses. Over 22 thousand students were scheduled to appear for the examinations.
