Minister for IT and communications KT Rama Rao addressing the gathering at the second annual Pega Developers Conference here on Sunday said,“If India is considered a back office solutions provider, we want Hyderabad to emerge as a hotbed for innovation and product development”.
“We understand and respect that the world looks up to us as a competent back office hub, but we need to be more. We need to be known not just for our programming skills but also for our entrepreneurial capabilities,” he said.
Rao added, “India has been recognised and respected all around the world for its programming skills, coding skills and so on, but we are not content with that and we should not be.
In order to move up the value chain, the government has initiated measures to nurture new ideas and promote innovation including the proposal to set up an incubator of incubators , T Hub , which will groom more than 5,000 companies. Similarly, to address the employability and polish technical and soft skills of students, the government rolled out Telangana Academy of Skill and Knowledge (TASK), which will make students industry-ready by the time they graduate”.
Pegasystems, is holding its two-day annual conference in the city for the second time, will develop its India ecoystem from 15,000 to 50,000 in the next three years.
