Minister for Municipal Development and Urban Development K T Rama Rao today visited the Nallagandla Cherucu (lake) and instructed the officials concerned to develop the lake in collaboration with Aparna Construction company owners who haqve come forward to do so with CSR funds.
The Nallagandla cheruvu, also known as Pedda cheruvu, is located in Nallagandla village in Seirlingampally mandal of RR district and the area of the lake up to FTL is 90 acres. Administrative sanction is accorded for R$s.228 lakhs and the work is being looked after by the GHMC Engineering Wing.
The Minister also visited Malka cheruvu located by the left of Old Bombay highway road and spread over an extent of 51.30 acres. Rama Rao instructed the officials to delop the lake in collaboration with Aparna construction which has come forward to develop it with CSR funds. An administrative sanction of Rs.160 lakhs is accorded by the GHMC for development and beautification of the lake. (NSS)
