Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT K Taraka Ramarao today said water grid works would begin in the first week of February.
During his visit to Elluru reservoir near Kollapur in Mahbubnagar district, he sought to know about its capacity. An intekwell is being planned to be built here, he said, adding that tender process will be completed for water grid works in a couple of days. He also said the government was planning to make use of 13 tmc waters to provide drinking water to Mahbubnagar, Ranga Reddy and Nalgonda districts. The Government was keen on providing safe and potable drinking water to every household in all Telangana districts. “For this, we will complete the project as per schedule in just four years and use less quantity of power”, he declared. The Water Grid project has been prepared keeping in view the growing population needs in 2018, he added.
