KTR unveils T Sawari, smart cards, public can travel on Nov. 29

IT & Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will launch the much-awaited Hyderabad Metro Rail at Miyapur Metro Station on November 28 at 2.15 pm. The Metro facility, first of its kind in the world in PPP model and the biggest in India, will be opened for public on November 29 at 6 pm to 10 pm. It is proud to have first phase Metro Rail in 30 km stretch from Nagloe to Miyapur and we need to keep it clean, he said.

Addressing the media at Nagole Metro Rail station after a trial run with ministers Padma Rao Goud, Mahender Reddy, MP Malla Reddy, Mayor Rammohan, Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy and officials, KTR unveiled T Sawari Card, Multi Purpose Smart Card and Naa Metro Swach Metro poster. On the occasion, he said the smart cards will be useful for multi-model transport and T Sawari Cards can be used in buses, autos and cabs in the city. A mobile App for T Sawari will be launched by the Prime Minister on the occasion, he said.

KTR said initially 57 Metro Rails are available now and each rail with three coaches can transport 1000 passengers from 6am to 10pm. It was being planned to add three more coaches to shift a total of 2,000 passengers at a time. After three to four months trial from 6 am to 10 pm, in future the timings will be changed keeping the demand and rush of passengers in view from 5.30 pm to 11 pm. Parking facility is made available at 24 metro rail stations for two-wheeler, 3-wheeler and 4-wheelers. Based on requirement, sky walks at some metro stations, foot over bridges at others and cycle stations will be made available at some others. (NSS)
