IT Minister K T Ramarao, who is on a two-week tour of the USA, today met Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and briefed him about his government’s new industrial policy and the single-window clearance for new industries in the Telangana State. He also explained about the T Hub and TASK initiatives of the State.
KTR and Nadella talked about various areas in which Microsoft and Telangana government could collaborate at the meeting. The minister presented a Bidriware Charminar replica to Satya Nadella on the occasion. Secretary of IT Department Jayesh Ranjan and Mark Day, GM, Government & Industry of Microsoft, were also present at the meeting.
Later, the KTR delegation visited the Amazon Campus at Seattle. They met Monique Meche, VP, Public Policy & John Schoettler, Director, Workplaces Global at Amazon. The Amazon team expressed happiness at the proactive approach of the Telangana government. They assured the Telangana delegation that Amazon will continue to partner with Telangana government on various initiatives in future too. The IT Minister also met Eric Schinfeld, Chief of Staff & Executive Vice President, Seattle Chamber of Commerce.
Earlier in the day, various diaspora organizations in Seattle organized a “Meet & Greet” with KTR at the Bellevue Library. The minister apprised the diaspora gathering about the various flagship initiatives undertaken by the Telangana government in the last one year. He told the audience the TRS government was giving top priority to provide basic needs like drinking water, irrigation facility, power supply, Education and Healthcare. He also exhorted the NRIs to be Goodwill Ambassadors for the Telangana State government. (NSS)
