KTR takes officials to task over bad roads in Hyderabad

Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development K Tarakarama Rao on Tuesday took the officials to task at a review meeting.

The minister said that the pathetic civic condition of city due to the lethargic attitude of the GHMC has dented the image of the government. The reputation and the image the state government had build over the time through its good work has been watered done by the bad road conditions of the city due to civic apathy of the GHMC officials, the minister said.

KTR said officials had presented before him the same excuses which they did over two months ago when he reviewed the city civic condition. He said that he is aware of the negligent officers and the contractors and warned them that they would face action if they failed to take up the repairs of city roads at the earliest on a war-footing.

The minister said that the weather department had cautioned about the heavy down pour in the city for the next two days and directed the officials to be ready to tackle any emergency situation emerging out of the situation. The entire GHMC machinery should be on the roads to deal any emergency, the minister said. (INN)
