A day after reshuffle in portfolios, Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Tuesday assumed charge of Industries Department. The portfolio was earlier held by Jupally Krishna Rao.
After assuming the charge at the State Secretariat, KTR held a review meeting with the higher officials. The minister was briefed about the functioning of different wings by the officials. He was also apprised of the issues concerning the Industries Department and various associated institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, KTR said he would conduct a detailed review meeting on April 28. He advised the officials to study the best practices in Industries Departments in different States.
Later, KTR also held a meeting with the officials of Mines Department. He asked them to take steps to prevent irregularities in mining activity. He also directed the officials to prepare a plan to help the citizens of Telangana working in different countries. He said that the NRI wing would be streamlined soon. (INN)
