IT Minister KT Rama Rao today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju for regional air connectivity. The minister who is in Delhi has called on the union minister along with Minister Jogu Ramanna, MP B Narasiah Goud and others. He discussed on the need for strengthening the regional air connectivity.
Ashok Gajapathi Raju said that his ministry has signed an MoU with the Telangana government for regional air connectivity. There is a need for using skilled workers in the aviation sector for offering improved services he said. KTR said that they have got into an understanding on expansion of regional air connectivity. Stating that the Centre in recent past gave technical clearance for Kothagudem Airport he said adding that he appealed to the union minister to give Begumpet Airport for using it as a skill development center.
He also called on Union Heavy Industry Minister Ananth Geetha and urged him to take steps to revive the closed cement factory in Adilabad. KTR also met union Textiles Minister Smrithi Irani and urged her to take steps for setting up a Mega Textiles park at Siricilla and subsidy for setting up power looms in the state to boost handloom sector. In a meeting with Union Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa KTR urged timely financial assistance for taking up development programs under various schemes.(NSS)
