Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K. Tarakarama Rao has appealed to the citizens of twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad to cooperate and join hands with the GHMC in making the city clean and green.
KTR, along with Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin and senior officials of GHMC and HMWS&SB inspected various nalas where lot is debris got accumulated causing obstruction free flow of water.
The Minister informed that around Rs. 30 crores were allotted for removal of debris from the nalas and the works would be grounded within 3-4 weeks and they would be completed before monsoon. They Mayor and Deputy Mayor, along with the local Corporators, will supervise the debris cleaning operation.
KTR said more number of Sewerage Treatment Plants would be established to restore the lost glory of Musi River by cleaning the drainage water which entering into the Musi. He said lot of pollutants and harmful chemicals were entering the nala from Balanagar and city outskirts. While asking the industrialist, manufacturers and Hoteliers not to allow the same, he asked the officials to be vigilant and take action against the violators.
GHMC Commissioner Dr.B.Janardhan Reddy, Zonal Commissioner Harichandana Dasari and Gaurav Uppal, Chief Engineers Suresh Kumar and Imtiaz Ahmed and others senior officials of the GHMC have participated in the visit. (INN)
